Let the Holiday Shopping Begin
As the witches and goblins slink away after the end of Halloween, we officially kick off the start of the holiday season! This year, we are hoping to get a head start and begin our research and holiday shopping early. As Brandon gets older, holiday gifting seems to gets harder and harder. Maybe it's because there are only so many lego sets, toy dinosaur figures, and trucks that a kid can or want to get. This year, we’ve rounded up some of the coolest gifts that you and your kids will love!
We bought these Puro headphones for Brandon 2 years ago, and it is awesome! Not only is it stylish and super well made, but these headphones are especially handy when he’s sitting in the back of the car watching the Lego movie and we all don't have to listen to ‘Everything is Awesome’ on repeat 50 times. Admittedly, it's a catchy tune, but definitely loses its appeal after awhile! Putting these Bluetooth headphones on allows him to fully bob to the music without the wires flailing about. It also has noise-canceling and volume-limiting controls, which ensures he won't damage his hearing should he decide to get a little trigger happy with the volume control. An added bonus of these headphones is that is has great sound quality!
If your little one loves building things, why not give them a modern, chic block building set that will allow them to use their imagination to create their own urban oasis. The blocks are made of beautifully finished pine blocks and can be combined to build towers and scenic city landscapes that can rival any of the great cities.
If you have older kids – this toy looks amazing. This roller coaster challenge is truly a toy that can be enjoyed by both parent and child. Imagine having the ability to build a miniature amusement park right in your living room - a roller coaster ride complete with dips, curves, and loops! This game is built to develop critical thinking skills, a total must-have. It was a Toy of the Year Award Finalist in 2018 and earned the American Specialty Toy Retailer Association’s (ASTRA) Best Toys for Kids Award in the Logic Skills category.
What’s better than giving your kid a camera that takes photos? One that prints out the pics instantly! Talk about instant gratification. If your child is anything like mine, with this camera, instead of taping all of his artwork around the house, he will now tape all of his photo masterpieces in our living room. Couple this present with a photo scrapbook and your child can begin capturing and documenting all the beautiful everyday moments of growing up.
It will be Winter soon so inevitably lots of snow days being cooped up indoors. Why not plan ahead and have some backup activities ready? The mini basketball hoop with a shatterproof backboard can be installed to the back of any door. The tabletop tennis can be set up on any dining table. In a split second, you can turn your house into an indoor gym. Perfect for those days when you are snowed or rained in.
What can I say, this was and is still by far the best present we’ve ever gotten Brandon. No batteries necessary! A little car that gets powered by wiggling the steering wheel. It is fun both indoors and outdoors. If your kids are small enough you can fit 2 on it so perfect fun for siblings or playdates. There have been countless hours of laughter as Brandon and his friends rode the wiggle car around the house. A little advice, if you do decide to get this, swap out the stock plastic wheels for the softer polyurethane wheels, the floor in your house will thank you.
Start fostering good behavior at a young age and it will become a good habit as they grow older. What better way to start teaching your child financial literacy than a super cool and modern piggy bank! Ensuring that your child is well educated on how to manage their money will help them secure their future.
We strongly believe that enabling our kids to explore the world around them will enrich them and make them better people. We love this Carson AdventurePak! With the compact 30mm binocular, the true-hand bearing compass, flashlight and combination thermometer/whistle, even any old backyard can turn into an adventure.
We are always looking for ways to foster Brandon’s creative and artistic skills. Couple this with an iPad and you have a super cool interactive experience that develops your child’s creativity and drawing skills. What’s great about this app and the drawing board is that there are 16 different games for different age groups so that you know your child will not outgrow this gift any time soon.
Want to make your kid’s arm stronger? Why not get the Radio Flyer cyclone, and let them bulk up while having some crazy fun. Unlike the plasma car – this adrenaline-pumping ride is 100% arm-powered. It’s compact and can spin 360 degrees. What more can you ask for!
If the above gifts are not enough, here are some great stocking stuffer ideas!
Who isn’t a Harry Potter fan? If you love Gryffindor House, now you can have Harry and his pals, adorning your Christmas tree. Hallmark just released their new Harry Potter Christmas ornaments. These are a top trending gift, get them while they are still available.
Holiday time is also the time many of us go on winter getaways. This is the perfect gift or stocking stuffer for those friends who love to escape to warmer temperatures. Our collection currently comes in the Classic, Aviator and Butterfly styles, with 3 different stylish and unique color combinations. If your friend is looking for the best-polarized children's sunglasses, look no further, we have just the thing for you!
Just when you thought the fingerling fad was over, think again. They've expanded far beyond the original monkeys so that there is now an option for every kid. We have a dinosaur lover at home so we might need to get the Untamed Wild Radioactive Dinos! Since we already have Boris (the blue monkey) – now all we need is another for a full-on fingerling battle!
These are just some of our favorites! We're sure there are tons more cool options out there. Do a little search and you might find that cool, unique gift that you and your child will love!
Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
